Horace: Half an hour ago.
Mum: I didn't hear you crying then.
Horace: No, I thought you were out.

Little George was crying , and his dad asked him why.
" I've lost 5 dollars ," sobbed George
"Never mind," said his dad kindly, " Here's another 5 dollars for you." At which George howled louder than ever.
"Now what is it?" asked his dad.
"I wish I'd said I'd lost 10 dollars !"
